2019-2020 AIAA Houston Executive Council Nominations

Hello Members of AIAA Houston Section,

We would like to announce that nominations for the AIAA Houston Section Executive Council for July 2019 – June 2020 are now open!

Positions requiring nominations are: Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Operations Vice-Chair, Technical Vice-Chair, 5 Councilor positions. To see the roles descriptions, please visit the bylaws.

Check out the Section Org Chart (PDF) to find the other various positions you can get involved with at the AIAA local level.

Please let us know your interest and we’ll pass it along to the new elected Executive Council.

Nominations open: 5/13 – 5/27 6/4
Elections held, if needed: 6/4 – 6/5
Announcement of new Executive Council: 6/6

Please submit your nominations no later than 6/4 to elections2019@aiaahouston.org.

AIAA Houston Section Dinner Meeting: “First Man” and Lunar Exploration

AIAA Houston Section will have a dinner event next Wednesday, December 12!

The short presentation and the movie “First Man” will take place at Star Cinema Grill.

Presentation at 6:30 and the movie at 7:00 pm.

NASA/JSC Wildlife Photography Lunch & Learn

Please join the AIAA Houston Section History Technical Committee for “A Photographic History of Wildlife at and around NASA’s Johnson Space Center” by Gary Seloff, NASA/JSC Information Management Specialist.

Wildlife on the campus of NASA/JSC includes bobcats, alligators, coyotes, snakes, lizards, and many kinds of birds, including herons, egrets, woodpeckers, owls, flycatchers, cardinals, mockingbirds, bluejays, sparrows, doves, bald eagles, and ospreys.

Texas A&M Sounding Rocketry Team Design Review

Join the Sounding Rocketry Team for their public design review:
Saturday, December 2nd
4:30pm
Texas A&M University, Harvey H. Bright Building, Malina Auditorium (HRBB 124)

The team will discuss their goals for the year, updates to their competition rocket, and improvements to launch infrastructure. Members’ work will be critiqued by panel of subject matter experts who will guide the team in their endeavors.
